Turbo Flux, if I’m not mistaken is the title of this month’s cover, Simon Haiduk’s fabulous painting, and a fairly accurate description of these last many months of life as I’ve seen and experienced it myself. Without a doubt it has been a Fire Monkey year to remember, and one presently leading into a Fire Rooster/Chicken year. I’m told that the Japanese refer to this coming time as a phoenix (fire bird) year. All in all there’s more than an excellent chance that the big transformations, renewals and rebirths will keep on coming, arriving and manifesting for a while yet. Our little piece of heaven here called Earth is surely ripe for evolution.
“Grace is the beauty of form under the influence of freedom.” Friedrich Schiller
Never forget: we have it in our capacity to change everything, always starting with ourselves. And when that really starts happening, I mean when we really get cooking with our involvement in the most wonderful art of co-creating realities (and we do that in conjunction with The All of Everything who’s always offering us the opportunity and tools to evolve – regardless of what they seem to us at the time) then the great show will have truly begun. With that transformation flowering to include our world, our homes, our lives, our relationships; bloom enriching bloom, change inspiring change, one encouraging the other through example, this endless garden of possibility will explode in a transmogrification of wondrousness, into a symphony of beauty expressed.
“I only ask to be free. The butterflies are free.” Charles Dickens
Of course getting there is the journey, and a most excellent one it is indeed.
That’s not to say it’s all cotton candy and shimmering lights. Rather it’s the grounding earth under our nails, between our toes; it’s the waters of this world flowing; the children, all the children of life living and giving to one another the gifts they have to offer. At times it’s been the Salmon people sacrificing their lives so ours might continue, or the Bison people. Now it’s the terrible truths about ourselves and our troubles that our very children and the living creatures of the world are sacrificing themselves to bring to the light of our consciousness, an awareness of our responsibilities to one another.
“To achieve the mood of a warrior is not a simple matter. It is a revolution. To regard the lion and the water rats and our fellow men as equals is a magnificent act of a warrior’s spirit. It takes power to do that.” Carlos Castaneda
Butchers or stewards, farmers or gardeners, soldiers or artists, we are what we do, who and how we eat, and nourish ourselves, and one another, what we say, think and do: these afford us our Seeing of where we really are on this awesome journey each step of the way.
“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” Albert Camus
The World around us, be it flat, round, hurtling through space or riding on the back of a titanic turtle, reflects us, informs us, mirrors us, engages us, challenges us; and through that awareness and experience shows us what we need to see, to transform, to heal, and to love. The World inside us (worlds really), as telling a place as one might imagine, each one to the other as different as crystalline snowflakes, affords us all the opportunity, the narrative and the vantage point for leaping off and away from the known into the innocence of the unknown, which is where the magic of our being is found.
“We have to balance the linearity of the known universe with the nonlinearity of the unknown universe.” Carlos Castaneda
Imagination is much more than just a word, it is limitless power awaiting our curiosity and daring. Imagine anything. Imagine everything. Imagine yourself anew. Nothing is beyond us, certainly not our own transformation, nor our own evolution.
There are very good reasons why this seems so difficult and hard. In truth the only thing harder is not evolving, not transforming.
“Shall I tell you what the real evil is? To cringe to the things that are called evils, to surrender to them our freedom, in defiance of which we ought to face any suffering.” Lucius Annaeus Seneca
What we see most often in the World around us, and often enough the one inside us, is the result of exactly that: an inborn, ingrown refusal to allow right action to flow through us: a refusal to allow Life to flow and hence grow free. Instead there are logjams of broken dreams and insane beliefs, crazy, at times alien, attempts to draw power from repression and dammed up potential. Inside and out, our worlds, our World shows us everything we need to see about where our true responsibilities reside, waiting for us to champion the very best of ourselves into manifesting that which we so powerfully yearn, hunger and thirst: our own freedom.
“A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom.” Bob Dylan
The subject of subjects: Freedom.
To my eye nothing is more important, nothing is of greater and more immediate concern, for it encompasses all facets of our existence, shared and otherwise. I feel it is our true heritage and natural state of being. One only has to look at how we treat our environment and the rest of our neighbours populating our dream in endless variations of Life itself to know exactly how much of that natural state we’ve earned or traded away in exchange for the consuming conveniences of a caged and at times comical yet omnicidal selfishness. I say comical because ya gotta laugh it’s so crazy, so obviously mad the folly to which we’ve so willfully abandoned ourselves.
“Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.” John F. Kennedy
Luckily the Phoenix rises from its own ashes, and maybe it’s the fire monkey that sets the blaze, eh folks? Now where did I put that match?
Oh, here it is.
If you are not evolving, ladies and gentlemen, not transforming, not engaged in the cultivation of your own being: what are you doing? And why?
“It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” Samuel Adams
Honesty, folks, there’s your fire starter. Nothing burns so brightly or more true. Makes the monsters and the lies, the cowards and the flies run and hide.
Imagine the cosmic conflagration that would follow Humanity’s acceptance of their proper and loving role as the embodiers of truth and the responsibility that comes with that realization, with that reality: one that is so obviously ours to claim. What a blaze that will be! I’ve already got one burning at my core. I tend that fire ceaselessly, never letting it go out, regardless of the storms of ignorance raging all around, for it is my heart.
“Look at every path closely and deliberately, then ask this crucial question: Does this path have a heart? If it does, then the path is good. If it doesn’t, it is of no use.” Carlos Castaneda
Right makes might, not the other way around.
Garden or abattoir. One cannot farm and not be farmed, cannot be love and not be loved, cannot kill and not be killed, cannot consume and not be consumed.
Let me break it down for you folks, real simple like. We get what we give. Been said before, will be said again, even follows one of the laws of physics and is a demonstrably verifiable truth.
This pivotal energetic truth, a truth about energy, is key, and now you have it too, you probably always did.
Turbo Flux.
Turbo: spinning top, whirl, having or driven by a turbine; a turbine: a machine for producing continuous power in which a wheel or rotor, typically fitted with vanes, is made to revolve by a fast-moving flow of water, steam, gas, air, or other fluid.
Flux: continuous change.
We, and all of Life, are powered by the flow of continuous change. Why not embrace this awesome principle that is at the core of everything around us and inside us?
There’s your zero point energy, your perpetual motion device.
Look around at the crazy-crazy dream we continually empower. Realize that if we no longer choose to give it our attention, our energy, our lives, it will cease to function; it’s parasitical system cannot exist without our consent, our submission, our agreement. Imagine the natural flow restored and the miracles to come with our cooperation.
“A being of knowledge chooses a path with a heart and follows it and then he looks and rejoices and laughs and then he sees and knows.” Carlos Castaneda
So yes, a fire rooster year, the fire-bird, Phoenix, I say. Bring it on. Light it up. Burn brightly and let the darkness know your light. The darker it seems the brighter we become.
Turbo Flux engines engaged, full speed ahead.
“Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.” Kevyn Aucoin
