IN A TIME OF UNIVERSAL FEAR, LOVE IS A REVOLUTIONARY ACT

“Don’t give in to your fears. If you do, you won’t be able to talk to your heart.” ~Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Fear is the most effective weapon of mass destruction in the war on consciousness, and whenever globally significant events of extraordinary impact occur, we are told to be afraid. The news cycle kicks into overdrive. Stories relevant to our actual lives and wellness are brushed asunder. As humans, we tend to pay attention to what’s right in front of us, and so in this world of sensory overload, we’re drawn to the negative repetitive messages intended to stoke fear and weaken or inner authority.

Love and fear are the two fundamental expressions of the human spirit, and in between love and fear exists the vast range of human consciousness. They are mutually exclusive, and serve as the most spectacular example of how the universal polarity of light and dark play out within the microcosm of the human psyche. Love and fear are states of consciousness, perhaps even frames of mind, if you will. They are primary emotions which color our every thought, decision, action and reaction.

“There are only two emotions: love and fear. All positive emotions come from love, all negative emotions from fear. From love flows happiness, contentment, peace, and joy. From fear comes anger, hate, anxiety and guilt. It’s true that there are only two primary emotions, love and fear. But it’s more accurate to say that there is only love or fear, for we cannot feel these two emotions together, at exactly the same time. They’re opposites. If we’re in fear, we are not in a place of love. When we’re in a place of love, we cannot be in a place of fear.” ~Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

No matter the intensity of fear we experience, as human beings, love is always available to us as a choice. It is our right to express love, and in my journey I’ve found over and over that sacred wisdom always leads me to the same place… love. Love is the truth. Fear is a distortion of this truth. When we express ourselves from the position of love we are infinitely more powerful than we are when our thoughts are distorted by fear.

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Society is fracturing at many levels right now, and people are increasingly abandoning civility. The top-down control play of divide and conquer is working, and the matrix is stoking your most primal fears in order to turn against your neighbor. It’s all available for you to indulge in… Fear of death, fear of loss, fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, fear of punishment, fear of not blending in, fear of being different.

In the process of personal awakening, the very first thing to go is fear, because as we awaken into the mystery of life, we find that in order to grasp it we must first release the fear. When we do so, we embody a new vibration, a higher vibration.

The narratives coming from governments, leaders, mainstream media and our corporate overlords are aimed at chronically triggering and stimulating conscious and sub-conscious fears and anxieties. The directive is to suspend us in negative, lower-vibrational frames of mind, so that we make decisions from that place. When the collective beings to follow suit, we see fear spread like a contagion, a sort of mind virus that wipes out rational, logical thinking. Group think takes over, and down we go into the abyss of mass hysteria.

“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and openhearted vision of people who embrace life.” ~John Lennon

When the motivating force in society is fear, then those acting from a place of love are heretics and revolutionaries. It takes courage to buck the peer pressure and herd mentality of the times, and to insist on living your life from a place of love is an act of rebellion. And although you may not typically notice it, our world is full of people who overcome fear with courage that love gave them. They are the ones being kind to others when chaos sets in, the ones allowing others the freedom to make their own choices based on their own perspectives. They are the ones not making demands of others, but simply tending to their own health and growth while resisting the temptation to let fear creep in.

But what happens if you try to describe fear? What color is it, what shape? What does it taste like and how much does it weigh? Where does it live? Who owns it? Nothing, no one, nada. The truth is that fear is only a vibration, an energy. It does not exist materially, and as a vibration, it’s a choice. With something as simple as a deep breath, we can often overcome this negative force, but we don’t always remember this.

Fear can stop you loving
Love can stop your fear
Fear can stop you loving
But it’s not always that clear

LOVE versus fear: what do you feel?

~Sarah Nean Bruce

Choosing Love

I once told a wise old shaman that I was having a difficult time and that the circumstances I was facing were just too hard. He looked me dead in the eyes and asked a very serious question. “Is it too hard, or is it too easy?” He instantly helped me to find the toggle between fear and love. It’s a matter of perspective.

Such a simple thought is such a powerful reminder of how easy it can be to turn our whole world around with a single thought. The body knows this as well. When love is present the hormone oxytocin is released in abundance, increasing feelings of equality, the sense bonding and maternalism, lifting the spirit and mood, and de-stressing. When agitated by fear the body releases the steroid hormone cortisol is produced, compounding stress and negatively impacting our physiology.

Can you imagine a society of fearless people who are not afraid to use their personal power to serve and help others? Not a bunch of robots who’d do anything terrible to someone else just not to lose their own stature or been seen as a threat to the tribe. This is the essence of personal and cultural transformation. I know this the be truth because I have experienced it my own life and have since heard many similar stories from people around the world. If my fear can be overcome and I can learn to look at the madness of the world with courage and love, then we all can do it.

If our perspective and worldview is colored darkly by fear, then we are not free and we will accept the authority of any entity that promises to keep us safe, while becoming increasingly authoritarian in our lives, subconsciously trying to mitigate our fear by attempting to control our environment and the behavior of others. Often we don’t see the ways in which we allow fear to control our lives, and in my practice as a self-mastery coach I help people to get a clear picture of how their mind allows fear to distort their perspective and limit their possibilities. Once beyond fear we are limitless.

I think this message from David Icke punctuates my sentiment here. It’s time to love the world into the paradise it really should be, and yes, in these times this is a revolutionary act.
