Wetiko, Collective Psychosis and Digital Slavery

Alison McDowell’s latest video explores ongoing research into genetically engineered (human) machines, “twinning” and the ramping up of “singularity” and the national security state.  Her latest blog entry prompted me to embark on my own exploration of what Native Americans (Cree) describe as wetiko.

 

 

I have been sent no less than five separate messages from friends, or links to blogs and websites in the past week; all referring to wetiko and its amazing parasitic influence on human behavior.  These converging signals constitute what is commonly called synchronicity, defined as “the simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection.”  I ignored these events for decades.  I now take notice and move closer to explore these mysterious events.

If you take the time to do a little exploring or your own, I think you will find the subject of wetiko both fascinating, and cathartic in the context of our current predicament.  Who knows, one more journey into the unknown may be “just that the doctor ordered.”

We are living in a moment when the wetiko mind virus of Western scientism seems to have cast a profoundly toxic spell. With loving intentions we hope to break that enchantment and bring forth a reckoning, healing, and ultimately redemption as we face down artificial intelligence. The Singularity is the ultimate settler colonizer, and humanity is in its crosshairs. We will all soon know what it means to be Ute, Palestinian, Black in Apartheid South Africa, descendent of enslaved and genocided people. Big tech and the Vaccine Credential Initiative seek dominion over non-GMO life. We are meant to be fodder for Utah’s 1,000+ “life sciences” start-ups. The capitalist paradigm insists we must be sick or if well, still avail ourselves of their therapeutic “solutions.” That is the twisted logic of a time where right relationship must become the imperative, or else.  – Alison McDowell

The author, Paul Levy has published a book https://www.amazon.com/Wetiko-Greatest-Epidemic-Sickness-Humanity/dp/0983569002 and numerous texts on the subject of wetiko.  He synthesizes like no other author I know when it comes to how our innermost psychic processes have been hijacked and exploited, which leads to what C.G.Jung describes as “totalitarian psychosis.”

Through this magical ability to express itself through the medium of the outside world, wetiko is simultaneously hiding and revealing itself at the same time, depending on our point of view and level of awareness.

We can better understand wetiko’s covert psy-ops by reflecting upon how this mind-virus works within an individual psyche, and recognize how this inner process is being mirrored and acted out in the world. When someone is taken over by the wetiko mind-virus, it is as if an alien, invading power gradually subsumes all of the healthy parts of the body politic and commandeers the executive function of the psyche so as to fulfill its own agenda, which is why the person taken over oftentimes acts in ways that are diametrically opposed to their own best interests.

In a psychic coup d’état, the wetiko bug can usurp and supplant a person, who becomes its puppet and marionette. Once the wetiko virus becomes sufficiently entrenched within a human psyche, the prime directive coordinating a person’s behavior comes from the disease, as it is now the one in the driver’s seat. As wetiko colonizes the psyche—centralizing power and control in the process—it eventually incorporates a seemingly autonomous regime that establishes a brutal hegemony over the healthy parts of the personality and becomes a parasitic autocracy within the greater body politic of the psyche. Once it gains a sufficient sovereignty, wetiko forms something like a totalitarian regime—what Jung calls “a shadow-government of the ego”—within the psyche which then dictates to the ego. I am still putting the pieces of this incredible gift of synchronicity together.  I do not have any answers but cannot turn away from this.  Not now.  I will close for now with one more compelling argument from Paul Levy’s link above:

We need to recognize that the totalitarian forces emerging in our world are reflecting—and both literally and symbolically revealing—to us shadow components of our own psyche, while at the same time, in a nonlinear, acausal process that happens both atemporally (outside of time) and over (linear) time, are in-formed and influenced by the very inner psychological process they are reflecting. This is to realize that the inner and outer are simultaneously co-arising and reciprocally co-evoking each other.

Recognizing this correlation and instantaneous reflective quality between the seemingly disparate outer and inner worlds opens up a pathway within us which expands our consciousness and helps us to wake up to the dreamlike nature of reality. This realization unlocks previously unimaginable “creative” (in contrast to “destructive”) powers within us that we didn’t know we had. This is the very process that dispells wetiko’s hold over us, putting in our own hands the very creativity-generating tools we need to start to dismantle the totalitarian psychosis within our world. Our world depends on it.

Levy’s website is loaded with more on wetiko  and connections to other ancient knowledge.  It is truly exemplifies:  A radical synthesis of the realms of quantum physics, alchemy, shamanism, Buddhism, Kabbalah, mystical Christianity, and the works of C.G. Jung and Philip K. Dick.
