Mind Parasites and Vampires-A Chat with Jonathan Zap

“Mind Parasites” has a fanciful sound to it like something contrived by an overwrought, paranoid imagination. The term was coined by British scholar of the occult Colin Wilson in his science fiction novel of ideas entitled The Mind Parasites, written in 1967. The novel is alternately fascinating and silly, spinning out of control with over-caffeinated egomania, and much of the “science” in the science fiction would seem absurd to anyone who didn’t sleep through their high school biology class. In fairness, Colin Wilson intentionally wrote the book in a hallucinatory, Lovecraftian mode, and HP Lovecraft is actually mentioned throughout the book as a visionary who, in the feverish depths of his imagination, tapped into secrets of the collective unconscious.’’ (From Jonathan Zaps article: (Mind Parasites, Energy Parasites and Vampires)

And yet, what if beyond our normal senses lurked ‘monsters in the dark’ that took advantage of our fears? Used us for food the way most of us kill to live. Whether animals or plants, unless we eat seeds or fruit, something once alive nourishes us to go on.

Personally, I can feel these ‘hidden shadows’, the mind parasites, lurking and lingering around, waiting to eat any ‘not so nice’ feelings I may generate. Dark ones, fear based, sadness and such. All the lower vibrational energies we all create when stress, anger, loneliness and such, get the ‘better of us’.

Perhaps those vampire ‘myths’ are not myths at all but tales of warning for what lives beyond our five senses. I would say, there is much more to us and our lives than meets the eye. And, more dangers about than are normally accepted as real.

I hope you enjoy this chat with Jonathan Zap, as I did. A well versed fellow with many interests.
